“Blooming Angel Wings” was born during a moment when I felt a bit of despair. I don’t often paint my feelings — especially when they’re heavy — and honestly, it’s something I’m still learning to embrace. But instead of pouring darkness onto the canvas, I chose to paint what I needed in that moment. I needed softness. I needed comfort. I needed something that felt like a hug.
I’ve always loved angel wings, and for this piece, I wanted the center to burst with a variety of white flowers — each representing purity, peace, protection, renewal, and the quiet spiritual reassurance that we are held, even when life feels heavy. The background may be dreary and somber, but the wings and flowers offer hope, promise, and the reminder that beauty can bloom even in the hard places.
This piece has resonated with so many people since I created it in 2025 and has quickly become one of my best-selling prints. Maybe that’s the universe nudging me to paint from the heart more often.
