Day Dreaming is a tribute to the woman behind the legend — Frida Kahlo in her truest essence.
Surrounded by blooming florals and fluttering butterflies, she rests in a quiet moment of reflection, her gaze filled with depth, resilience, and imagination. Through illness, heartbreak, and unimaginable physical pain, Frida chose color. She chose wonder. She chose to live boldly and unapologetically.
My Frida Kahlo collection is extensive, and I’ve been drawn to her for most of my adult life — not only as an artist, but as a woman. While I often imagine her as a modern-day muse, this piece honors her original spirit: a woman with a profound story and an unbreakable will to create beauty from hardship.
Painted in oil, acrylic, and lipstick, Day Dreaming preserves her legacy as a symbol of strength, creativity, and the courage to fully live.
